How Can We Help?

Group and Individual Therapy

Group - While not a requirement, it is strongly recommended that you go through our 6-week online group prior to, or during, any therapy work you may do with us individually. This is a psycho-education group focusing on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other skills to facilitate a safe trauma processing experience. Please contact us to learn more about these groups and when the next cohort will begin.

Individual - We offer online and in-office therapy. Our in-office therapy sessions are specifically for EMDR processing when you feel ready.  Prior to EMDR sessions, online therapy is a flexible alternative to office visits.

We are trained in both EMDR and Brainspotting with many years of experience helping clients process and resolve the impact of trauma.

Trauma-Informed Workshops with an EMDR Focus

This is where it all starts. We provide an introduction to a trauma-informed approach to healing trauma, anxiety, depression, and probably lots of other stuff, too. These workshops are focused on equipping you to responsibly begin using self-administered EMDR. You will learn:

  • What is Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • What are Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Why They Matter

  • How and Why Trauma is Likely Impacting You

  • The Eight Phases of EMDR

  • How Philippians Fits Seamlessly Within and Amplifies the EMDR Phases

  • How to Create Safe Spaces for Processing with Spiritual Practices

  • How to Know if/when EMDR is Safe to do on Your Own

  • When To Know a Healing Professional is Needed

  • Demonstrations and Practice Working Through Small-Scale Issues to Experience this Process for Yourself

These workshops are a pre-requisite to our online trauma-healing skills groups. Please contact us and we can let you know about upcoming workshops.

Spiritual Direction

Our goal is to journey with you to create greater mindfulness, a fuller presence of peace and to be more aware more of the love of the Divine especially in the healing process.

We offer online and in-office Spiritual Direction sessions in conjunction with The Senseless Peace Project trauma course and separately. We are certified through the Sustainable Faith's School of Spiritual Direction.

Please contact us for more information or to schedual a session.

Trauma-Healing Course

Our 12-week preparation and processing course focused on healing trauma and restoring peace. Designed to be a comprehensive clinical and spiritual approach to healing trauma, you may want to think about our course as a book with experiential practices woven throughout the sections to practically prepare you for releasing trauma and finding peace.

The course draws from several therapy healing approaches including Narrative Exposure Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Brainspotting, and EMDR.

It is largely influenced by the leading experts in trauma and healing such as Bessel van der Kolk, Peter Levine, Francine Shapiro, David Grand, Robert Scaer, Dan Siegel, and other leading research and practice professionals in the fields of trauma, interpersonal neurobiology, dissociation and attachment theories.

Equipping Others

We have been training professional and lay counselors and pastors through workshops and retreats in Sierra Leone since 2013. Our desire is to continue to travel 1-2 times per year to continue to partner with many of the free counseling centers in Freetown and throughout the country as well as other areas in the world impacted by chronic and acute trauma. Profits from The Senseless Peace Project will go towards funding future trainings.

If you would like information on our future trips to Salone (Sierra Leone) and elsewhere, please contact us.

If you are an organization partnering with other indigenous relief and aid agencies in developing nations, and are interested in the possibility of working together, please contact us. We would love the opportunity to hear about what you are doing and explore opportunities for working together.
